API Filstar XP L Rena Canister Filter, newer model name is XP3. Motor needs replacement after working for 15 years.
Once plugged in, the impeller does make noise and spins like normal, without noise, after several seconds. I viewed this with lid removed from housing. However, when installed, the impeller does not spin with enough force to circulate water upwards into the exit tube. So, likely the motor is worn out.
Everything in photos included. Baskets and lids. Heavy duty tubing. Used square sponges.
Filstar L Motor/coil/housing/O-ring kit sold at renaaquaticsupply.com. Either the XP3 or XP4 can be used interchangeably I think. I could not find just the motor for sale by itself. Verify all information with renaaquaticsupply.
